Unable to choose post featured image resolution in single or page template

There is no "resolution" setting available when placing the block in the single template. See #33789 (comment)

The same is true of the single page template.

Similar to #50271, the single template does not have access to the actual featured image from the post, only the placeholder image, that is probably why. It doesn't know what size the actual image is available in.
