We're launching the WCEU 2026 Marketing Campaign — and we need creative minds like yours. Today’s focus: laying the groundwork to attract, engage, and grow our community leading up to WordCamp Europe.
This includes:
- Promoting retention of past WCEU attendees
- Attracting new audiences — especially younger and older WordPress users
- Showcasing speaker and attendee diversity through storytelling
Pick your squad, or try more than one!
Help us plan, write, or refine email campaigns for:
- Past attendees (how do we bring them back?)
- New audiences (younger, older, more diverse)
- First announcements (dates, tickets, CFP, etc.)
Good fit for: copywriters, CRM/email marketers, storytellers
Brainstorm or draft social posts for WCEU channels. Focus areas:
- Speaker and attendee spotlights
- Fun countdowns or behind-the-scenes
- Community moments from past WCEUs
Good fit for: social strategists, meme creators, short-form writers, visual thinkers
Put your assets in this folder (just make sure it's publicly accessible): https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1BhMydE8TS33CrlXyJUkPm5zyTIfWV6Bz
- Choose a Squad — Email or Social (or both!)
- Get Briefed — Squad leads will provide a short kickoff
- Break into Groups — We’ll form teams by audience segment (e.g. “younger audience,” “returnees,” “speaker diversity”)
- Start Creating — You’ll brainstorm, write, and shape early ideas
- Floaters & Support — Campaign leads will bounce between groups to review, guide, and add ✨spice✨
We’ll wrap up with a quick share-out so everyone gets a peek at the ideas.
