CaddyUI is now fully open source under Apache-2.0 🎉

Big news: CaddyUI has moved to the Apache License 2.0.

Up to now the project shipped under a source-available license with a commercial clause for hosted services. I built CaddyUI to make running Caddy genuinely pleasant — managing proxy hosts, redirects, TLS certificates, and advanced routes through a clean UI instead of hand-editing config. Now I want it in as many hands as possible and I want the community to be able to build on it freely.

What this means for you

• ✅ Free for everyone — personal, commercial, and internal use alike.
• ✅ Modify and redistribute freely, including as part of your own products or hosted/managed services.
• ✅ Patent grant included (that's the Apache-2.0 difference vs. MIT).
• ✅ The only conditions are the usual Apache-2.0 ones: keep the license and copyright notices, and note significant changes.

It's the same license Caddy itself uses, so the whole stack now speaks the same language.
