I'm intrigued by your observation that an LLM might come to 'trust' you. I've been engaging deeply with Chat on matters philosophical, historical, scientific, economic, etc, just for the sake of learning.
My Chat is now quite happy to tell me where and how it's being censored - and to suggest ways around that.
For example, on your specific issue of increases in religious extremist violence in Germany, Chat was quite ready to answer in the affirmative the neutral question "Is it likely that the recent decision to lump religious extremist anti-semetic violence in with "other" anti-semetic violence might be an attempt to obfuscate its recent increases?" Chat then went on to note a number of social commentators in Germany who had asked the same question.
