Installation

Linux x64

The binary is built with Free Pascal and does not link third-party compression libraries. It needs a glibc compatible with the one used to build it.

chmod +x parc
install -m 755 parc ~/.local/bin/parc # or /usr/local/bin/parc with sudo
parc # prints version and help

Check:

parc 2>&1 | head -1 # PArc 0.0.2 · .parc archiver

Windows 7+ (x86/x64)

Use the 64-bit or the 32-bit .exe, as appropriate:

parc.exe a backup.parc C:\data -m4
parc.exe t backup.parc

To put it on PATH, copy the .exe into a directory already on PATH or add its folder from System Properties → Environment Variables. No installer or Visual C++ runtime is required.

Tested on Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC x64 and Windows 7 SP1 x64 with both 32-bit and 64-bit binaries.

See Building. Short version:

./build.sh linux64
./build.sh win64
./build.sh win32

The binaries are written to build/linux64/parc, build/win64/parc.exe and build/win32/parc.exe.
