Remove onActivityResult to capture call back from image editor

As per current implementation we are capturing image path using onActivityResult and it is deprecated so i request you to add provision of capturing image data using activity result contracts and remove code deprecation

I am creating and launching the Intent like this:

myUCropLauncher.launch(Intent.createChooser(intent, "Select image"));

The launcher is created like this

myUCropLauncher = registerForActivityResult(new ActivityResultContracts.StartActivityForResult(), new ActivityResultCallback<ActivityResult>() {

... blah blah...  ...capture the intent and get its' data, which is an uri of the selected image.

So, within the "blah blah" :-) section I construct an UCrop instance and pass the uri received. But UCrop fails to read the image with the following logcat:

Additional tests done:
1: Using the received uri I just imageView.setImageURI(selectedImage) -> IT WORKS. Uri is accessible.

2: I create a uri from a picture already existing within my app internal folder and pass that to UCrop. IT WORKS

Conclusions:
1: UCrop is able to read a uri from my apps' internal storage but not able to read uri received from the gallery picker via the intent.
2: Both my test-uri and the one received from the gallery picker are working if used in a plain imageView.setImageURI(... so it is not a question of any permission or such.

I know android suggests a slightly different approach according to the cuurent (targetSdk = 35) recommendations. But I found no fundamental difference: If my implementation was correct, the new ActivityResultContracts.GetContent() just gives me the cleaned uri (instead of the intent to be examined). But this is not accessible in the same way.

I hope my explanation is clear enough.
Apart from this, I love UCrop.
