IME Super App — Chicago Hyperlocal Social + Discovery Platform

IME Super App is a hyperlocal “super app” concept for Chicago that combines messaging, a social moments feed, map-based local discovery, short video, and local trending in one product. The goal is to reduce the friction of “finding what to do + who to do it with” by merging social context and nearby places into a single, mobile-first experience.

Why this exists (problem it solves)

Most “local” experiences are fragmented across multiple apps:

  • Messaging happens in one place (DMs / groups)
  • Social updates happen elsewhere (stories / posts)
  • Discovery and reviews live in map apps
  • Video trends are on separate platforms
  • Local news + alerts are scattered

IME unifies these workflows into a single loop: Chat → See Moments → Discover Nearby → Share via Video → Track Hot topics → Manage your profile & community identity

Core Features (current product surface)

1) Chat + Community Messaging

A familiar inbox experience for 1:1 and group chats, plus an “IME Assistant” entry point for local recommendations and concierge-style help.

2) Moments (Stories + Feed)

A lightweight social layer with story rings and a feed optimized for “what’s happening around me” — posts can be location-aware and time-relevant.

3) Explore (Map-based Local Discovery)

Search and browse nearby places/events with category filters (food, cafés, parks, music, etc.), quick “Full Map” access, and trending tags for fast discovery.

4) Video (Short-form Local Clips)

A TikTok-style vertical player designed for local moments and micro-content, with quick follow/like/comment actions and location context.

5) Hot (Local Trending / News)

A ranked “what’s hot” list mixing events, transit updates, weather alerts, and community topics — optimized for glanceable local awareness.

6) Profile (Identity + Community Footprint)

A profile hub for posts, saved items, videos, followers, and a “credits” concept (e.g., TimeBank / community points) to support incentives and trust.
