Unable to Build on CachyOS

I'm trying to build Meetily on an up-to-date CacheOS install and I get an error.
Forcing Vulkan as I cannot get to even start compiling with the autodetected ROCM

This error is coming from inside whisper-rs itself (whisper_params.rs:62), not from Meetily's code directly. My guess is that whisper-rs 0.13.2 expects the C struct whisper_full_params (generated by whisper-rs-sys via bindgen from whisper.cpp's header) to have the newer nested layout, greedy { best_of } / beam_search { beam_size }. If that field is missing, it's possible the bindings generated on your machine came from an older or mismatched whisper.cpp header, from before that struct was refactored. I haven't confirmed this on CachyOS myself, so treat it as a theory rather than a diagnosis.

whisper-rs-sys runs bindgen and libclang fresh at build time. On some Arch based setups this can quietly fail or fall back to a stale cached copy instead of regenerating. There's an env var, WHISPER_DONT_GENERATE_BINDINGS, that makes it skip generation entirely and reuse whatever bindings are already bundled. If that's set anywhere in your environment, worth unsetting it.

A few things you could try:

cargo clean -p whisper-rs-sys
rm -rf frontend/src-tauri/target
sudo pacman -S clang llvm

then rebuild with Vulkan forced again.

If that doesn't help, this might also be worth a shot:

cargo update -p whisper-rs-sys

to rule out a broken patch version of the sys crate.

I'm not certain any of this fully resolves it, this is my best read of the error rather than a tested fix. If it doesn't work, it'd help to see if bindgen or libclang throws any warnings during the build, not just the final compile error.

When I run the cargo update I get an error about patch hierarchy
