a2a-rails — Rails-native integration for exposing Rails apps as A2A v1.0 agents

Hi A2A community! 👋

I’ve released a2a-rails v0.1.0, an open-source Ruby gem that makes it easier to expose existing Rails applications as A2A v1.0 agents.

The goal is to provide a Rails-native integration layer while keeping application code independent from SDK-specific request/response objects.

With a2a-rails, a Rails application can:

• define Agents and Skills with a Rails-friendly DSL
• automatically expose an A2A Agent Card
• expose an A2A HTTP endpoint without manually modifying Rails routes
• handle SendMessage and task lifecycle operations
• keep business logic in normal Ruby/Rails classes

A minimal Agent looks like this:

class EchoAgent < A2A::Rails::Agent
  name "Echo Agent"
  description "Echo messages"
  version "1.0"

  skill :reply,
    description: "Echo a message",
    tags: %w[echo],
    handler: Echo::Reply
end

Then the Rails application exposes:

GET  /.well-known/agent-card.json
POST /a2a

v0.1.0 is intentionally server-first and non-streaming.
