facebook private videos

ytdownloader falls over with the cannot parse data error that yt-dlp seem unable or unwilling to fix - they even close posts about it as soon as they are posted
has anyone found a working way around this? tried replacing the facebook.py and that did nothing.
Facebook now only keeps video in groups for 30 days then deletes them so I'm trying to back up some for personal use.
