Self-taught cloud, Linux, and automation builder with hands-on experience in self-hosting, deployment, scripting, and practical AI workflows.
I am a self-taught technologist with a background in nursing and a long-standing curiosity about how computers work. What started as breaking and fixing things turned into a serious commitment to learning Linux, Bash, Python, SQL, data analysis, and self-hosted systems.
My journey into Linux began about seven years ago when I bought my first Raspberry Pi. That experience pulled me deeper into infrastructure, automation, and application deployment, and it confirmed that this is the direction I want to pursue professionally.
I am growing into roles where I can contribute in areas such as:
- Data center and infrastructure support
- Cloud support and infrastructure operations
- Linux systems administration
- Automation with Bash and Python
- Application deployment and configuration
- AI-assisted workflow automation
So far, I have worked on projects and environments involving:
- Hosting and maintaining a Nextcloud installation
- Setting up SMB shared folders
- Configuring Django-based web applications
- Working hands-on with Linux systems
- Building a Raspberry Pi enabled Smart Cart
- Using Ollama to pull and run smaller local AI models
- Learning how model size, RAM, and system resources affect local model performance
- Installing and working with OpenClaw as part of my local AI and developer-tooling exploration
- Integrating AI into n8n workflows for automation and experimentation
- Automated mail merging using ReportLab to create personalized PDF documents
- Building experience across self-hosting, scripting, deployment, and local tooling
A Bash-based Linux administration lab that focuses on account, group, and shared-directory management.
- Creates and manages Linux users and groups
- Configures shared directory permissions and group ownership
- Demonstrates practical command-line administration concepts
A set of Bash scripts for backing up project files, retrieving archives from a remote server, and restoring them locally.
- Creates timestamped backups of project files and databases
- Captures environment dependencies and service files
- Retrieves the latest remote backup over SSH and SCP
- Restores archived files into a local recovery directory
Right now, I am focusing my portfolio on cloud, Linux, and automation work because that is where my strongest hands-on experience lives. AI remains an important part of my path, especially where it supports automation, local tooling, and practical workflows rather than existing as a standalone buzzword.
This repository is part of that journey. It is where I document what I am learning, what I am building, and the kind of technical work I want to keep doing.
