Hi Abdullah, I will suggest add me to the repository as contributor then I can commit my changes to another branch and finally you can mrege these changes back to main branch. As you are the initiator / main person who has done hardwork these should be under your name / repository

2. Add your HTML version in a new branch (e.g., feature/html-version)

This way I can review the changes and merge them into the project. Your contribution will still be fully credited to you — GitHub tracks all commits and shows contributors automatically.

The Bootstrap styling, dark/light theme toggle, responsive navigation, breadcrumbs, and the sticky alphabet quick-jump on vocabulary pages are all very well done. It's clear you've put a lot of thought and effort into this. Thank you for contributing to the project!

Before I merge, I spotted one small issue I'd like you to fix:

In index.html, around line 143-144, there's a missing closing brace. It currently looks like:

It should be something like:

Could you please fix this and push the update? I want to make sure everything is clean before merging into main.

Hi @innorfui, thanks for the quick response! Unfortunately the two issues are still present across all levels (A1–C2). Let me be more specific:

Issue 1: Quick jump bar overlaps content (all Sätze pages)
Affected files: A1/03_Saetze.html, A2/03_Saetze.html, B1/03_Saetze.html, B2/03_Saetze.html, C1/03_Saetze.html, C2/03_Saetze.html

The quick jump bar sits on top of the page content and cuts off the text/headings behind it. The fix would be to either:

• Move the bar to a vertical sidebar on the left or right side of the page so it doesn't overlap the main content
• Or give the content below the bar enough top margin/padding so nothing is hidden behind it

Issue 2: Quick jump bar completely missing (all Wortschatz pages except A1)
Affected files: A2/01_Wortschatz.html, B1/01_Wortschatz.html, B2/01_Wortschatz.html, C1/01_Wortschatz.html, C2/01_Wortschatz.html

The bar works correctly on A1/01_Wortschatz.html but doesn't appear at all on any of the other Wortschatz pages. These pages are structured the same way, so the bar should be present on all of them.

Could you take another look? Happy to help troubleshoot if needed.

Hi @abdullahbutt thanks for the feedback I have moved the quick jump bar to left verticle and it does not overlap now. Further for the other Wortschatz pages these does not have alphabetical order but if you like I can add numeric based verticle quick bar similar to alphabet

Hi @innorfui, great progress so far! Here are the remaining items before we merge:

1. Numeric quick-jump bar on Wortschatz pages (A2–C2)
As you suggested — please go ahead and add a numeric vertical quick-jump bar (1, 2, 3...) for the themed Wortschatz pages. The section counts per level are:

• A2: 15 sections
• B1: 11 sections
• B2: 14 sections
• C1: 12 sections
• C2: 10 sections

2. Numeric quick-jump bar on Grammatik pages (A1–C2)
Same idea — the Grammatik pages also have numbered sections (8–14 per level) and would benefit from the same numeric sidebar for quick navigation. Section counts:

• A1: 14 sections
• A2: 9 sections
• B1: 8 sections
• B2: 9 sections
• C1: 10 sections
• C2: 9 sections

3. Alphabet bar scrollability fix (Wortschatz A1 + all Sätze pages)
The vertical alphabet bar is currently taller than the viewport, so letters below K are cut off and not clickable. Adding this CSS should fix it:

    max-height: calc(100vh - 7rem);
    overflow-y: auto;
}

Once these three are done, we're good to merge! Really appreciate all the effort you're putting into this 🙌

Hi @innorfui, thanks for the updates! The numeric jump bars on Grammatik and Wortschatz pages are looking good, and the Sätze sidebar is working well. However, I found a few more issues during testing:

Issue 1 (Critical): JavaScript error breaking back-to-top button & dark mode on 30 pages

All pages 04–08 (Lesen, Hören, Sprechen, Schreiben, Musterprüfung) across ALL levels (A1–C2) have a broken script. Near the bottom of each file there's this line:

root.setAttribute('data-bs-theme', preferredTheme);

But root and preferredTheme are never defined in these pages. This causes a JavaScript error that also prevents the back-to-top button (blue arrow) from working, since it's in the same script block below that line.

The fix is to simply remove that line, since the theme is already correctly applied in the first script block using document.documentElement.setAttribute('data-bs-theme', saved);

Affected files: all 30 files (5 pages × 6 levels)

Issue 2: The ... button on the jump bar swaps items instead of expanding

When you click ..., it hides the first 8 items (A–H or 1–8) and shows the rest. But then there's no way to see the top items again without clicking ... again. Users expect ... to expand and show ALL items at once, not swap one batch for another.

The fix would be to change the toggle logic so clicking ... reveals all remaining items while keeping the first batch visible.

Issue 3: Hardcoded button counts in jump bar files don't match all levels

jump_grammatik.html has 13 buttons, but levels range from 8 sections (B1) to 14 sections (A1). jump_wortschatz.html has 12 buttons, but levels range from 10 sections (C2) to 15 sections (A2). This means:

• Levels with fewer sections show disabled/dead buttons
• Levels with more sections are missing buttons entirely (e.g., A1 Grammatik section 14 has no button, A2 Wortschatz sections 13–15 have no buttons)

The best fix would be to generate the buttons dynamically from the actual <h2> headings on each page via JavaScript, instead of using a hardcoded external file. This way every level automatically gets the correct number of buttons.

Issue 1 is the most critical since it breaks functionality on 30 pages. Issues 2 and 3 are UX improvements.

Just a quick update — I went ahead and fixed the remaining items we discussed:

• Dynamic jump bar — buttons now auto-generate from actual page sections, so no more disabled or missing buttons
• Footer — consistent across all pages with updated styling
• Added Open Graph meta tags and a social preview image for link sharing
