Opened '20130113T09:25:12' by mtoman as https://fedorahosted.org/abrt/ticket/936

  • read os_release from /etc/SuSE-release or something
  • openSUSE does not use /usr/libexec hardcoded at several places
  • more smaller problems may appear

FYI, openSUSE has /etc/os-release -- no need to bother with /etc/SuSE-release.

Thank you for your comment. We already created an issue for os-release abrt/libreport#147

All problems are caused by missing BTHASH in reported_to element.

Is there any chance to make this work? We are planning to test Fedora with OpenQA project, so we need ABRT stuff to run on OpenSUSE.

This needs an external contribution. The Red Hat team will not work on this in any near future.

Most of the delta between Fedora and openSUSE should be gone now:

  • Fedora and openSUSE use os-release(5) data
  • openSUSE uses /usr/libexec in Tumbleweed
  • DNF now exists with full repo configuration as an option, with Micro DNF being default for MicroOS

The main issue would be integrating it with the SUSE Bugzilla, which should already work, right?

@mcatanzaro, cpe:/o:opensuse:tumbleweed:20240315 contains file:///etc/os-release.
