Add a helper that normalizes empty-string slug input before creator route validation.

• helper handles empty-string slug input consistently
• route validation flow can reuse the helper directly
• behavior remains narrow and predictable

Hi Maintainers,

I’d like to take this issue. I’ll build a complete notification center including the bell icon with unread count, dropdown UI, API integration, and support for multiple notification types with proper icons.

I’ll implement mark-as-read (individual and all), real-time updates (WebSocket/polling based on existing setup), and ensure each notification links correctly to its relevant page.

The implementation will align with the current UI and fully satisfy all acceptance criteria.
