Use the Cover task (called Remix in the UI) with the song as source audio. Leave the original words in Lyrics and change Caption to describe the target genre, instruments, mood, and vocal character; the tutorial distinguishes Caption as the overall sound and Lyrics as the song structure and words. For a first comparison, try Audio Cover Strength around 0.7, then compare a lower and higher value with the same seed and settings. The guide says higher strength follows the source structure more closely, while lower strength gives the new caption more room, so there is a trade-off between keeping the melody and changing the voice or arrangement. It can preserve the structure, but an exact melody or voice replacement is not guaranteed. Guide: https://github.com/ace-step/ACE-Step-1.5/blob/main/docs/en/Tutorial.md |

Say there's a song I like.
I like the overall melody, and the lyrics. However, I don't like the vocal (bad voice), the instruments (strange instrument selection), the style (vocal extending some sounds unnecessarily).
Is there a way of generating music from this song to my liking?
What's the correct term here for my goal? Repainting? Cover? Remix?
