On Win 7 after trying out datalogging example T\the Pico became ReadOnly. Used flash nuke to unbrick it then CRASH !!!! (blue screen of death) repeatedly But on Win 10 it works fine. On Win7 it causes crash as soon as module is plugged into USB (with CIRCUITPY in it)
Using the beta 4 version. Will try new version as soon as it becomes available. Problem is only related to Win7. On Win 10 it's working fine.
I wonder if anyone has come across a condition whereby Win 7 crashes (infamous Blue Screen) when the Pico with CircuitPy in it is plugged in. It doesn't happen at all on Win10. Tried Safe Mode and the crash still occurs. When CircuitPy is removed and "rp2-pico-20210205-unstable-v1.14-8-g1f800cac3" is flashed instead for using with Thonny, no crash occurs. It's enigmatic. Initially it worked fine but the malfunction began after trying out the "data logging" example at which point he dive became "readonly". Several attempts where made to remove the readonly attribute with Command Prompt. Finally flash-nuke was employed and on the next flashing of CircuitPython 6 Beta 4 the crashing condition began. Have only 1 Pico at the moment because it's sold out. Hope someone discovers a solution.
