I tried this but ran into an issue where it also implies the master branch. When I tried it we were using a non-master branch of tinyusb and it failed. Lets let travis run and see now. :-) |

pretty sure this will help with the depth, although it seems like it's likely time consuming due to the number of submodules. You could potentially clone them in parallel, or perhaps utilize travis's caching features.
