Summary

Second stable release of this fork built on CrossInk v1.5.0.

As stated in the CrossInk release notes:

This release should be SAFE for all known X3 and X4 variants.

Warning

This release is NOT compatible with the XTEINK X4 Pro — do not flash it on one. Upstream has announced X4 Pro support for a later release.

It brings everything upstream added in 1.5.0 — dictionary lookup, touch support for the Seeed Sticky, incremental indexing, nearby device-to-device file transfer, word spacing, and a long list of fixes — plus this fork's own features and fixes below. Installing

This is a stable release, you should normally be able to install with Settings → System → Check for Updates on a device running this fork.

There is no tiny or xlarge variant anymore. CrossInk 1.5.0 reworked the build targets and those two no longer exist:

• If you were on the tiny build, you will get the default font size back — set it again in Settings.
• If you were on the xlarge build, download the font sizes you need from Inky and place them on your SD card in a .fonts or fonts folder.

Anyone else experiencing a crash when trying to sync progress?

No rush man, thanks for what you do. At the moment version .1 is working beautifully for me, so I'm more than happy to stay on it a bit longer.

Quick question, when we do BookOrbit sync, is it also meant to do the same sync as KoReader? I've bound the long press 'select' button to BookOrbit Sync, but I've noticed that my Kobo doesn't pick up where I left off with the X3. Only earlier today I did the progress sync (rather than BookOrbit sync), and my Kobo reflected the book progress. Just some observation, not sure who else is reading on X3/X4 and another reader as well 😅

Thanks for the feedback ! BookOrbit Sync is meant to perform the same as KOReader Sync and more.

It syncs progress but also reading sessions (to update reading statistics on your BookOrbit server), highlights and bookmarks.

I personally use it reading on my X4 during the day and on my Kindle at night and it syncs perfectly.

My guess is that if the BookOrbit sync button does not allow you to transfer progress to your Kobo, something is probably failing silently during the upload from your X3.

One quit test you can do is opening a new book, reading a few pages, perform a BookOrbit Sync and check on your BookOrbit server if you see the progress / reading stats uploaded for this book

Hey, if you can try the new v1.5.1+bookorbit.1-rc2 release candidate it might fix the crash you encountered and probably allow more reliable progress sync between devices !
