Hi,
We are running airbyte/source-shopify version 3.4.0 in our self-hosted Airbyte (OSS) production environment and are also currently evaluating Airbyte Premium. As part of a parallel-ingest proof of concept for our Shopify pipelines, we have identified that the connector is pinned to Shopify Admin API version 2025-10 in both 3.4.0 and the current latest 3.5.0 (released 2026-06-11), with no user-configurable api_version field.
Shopify released Admin API version 2026-01, which raises the bulk-operation concurrency limit from 1 to 5 per shop (per Shopify's documentation — release notes mention this change took effect in 2026-01). This change would substantially improve our throughput for high-volume shops by allowing multiple bulk operations to run in parallel against the same store.
Additional context:
We operate 9 Shopify shops (high-volume German nutrition retailer — ESN, More Nutrition, RAW Nutrition, BUM Energy brands) across both daily and 15-minute (neartime) ingestion cadences, and the 1-slot bulk-op limit is currently our binding constraint for moving more shops to sub-hourly cadence. The 2026-01 bump would directly unblock this for us and we suspect a number of other Shopify-heavy Airbyte customers.
Happy to share more about our use case if helpful.
Best,
Eric Joachim Liese
