Troubleshooting

Updating

To update the Portable Hermes distribution, run UPDATE.bat or hermes.bat update --backup --yes.
To update the embedded upstream Hermes Agent code from inside the agent, ask Hermes to run update_hermes.
The agent updater preserves Portable Hermes launchers, custom tools, toolsets, extensions, docs, and runtime folders.
Fresh release ZIP installs without .git use an HTTPS ZIP overlay path for upstream Hermes updates.
