🇬🇧 Snitch v1.0.5 — Windows is here

The packaged app now boots and captures correctly on Windows: the console=False startup crash is fixed, and the sniffer picks the interface carrying the default route instead of the first up interface (no more vEthernet (WSL) showing zero external hosts). Requires Npcap + an Administrator terminal.

Also in this release: per-process icons in the Apps table (community contribution), a fuller tracker list, leftover English strings translated to French, React 19, and all dependency bumps. CI now builds the PyInstaller backend on all three OSes.

🇫🇷 Snitch v1.0.5 — Windows arrive

L'app packagée démarre et capture désormais sous Windows : le crash console=False est corrigé, et le renifleur choisit l'interface qui porte la route par défaut (fini le vEthernet (WSL) qui n'affichait aucun hôte externe). Nécessite Npcap + un terminal Administrateur.

Aussi dans cette version : icônes par processus dans le tableau des apps (contribution communautaire), liste de traqueurs enrichie, chaînes anglaises restantes traduites en français, React 19 et toutes les mises à jour de dépendances. La CI compile le backend PyInstaller sur les trois OS.

Fixed: blank map in the packaged app — the world TopoJSON was fetched over file:// (blocked for opaque origins); it is now bundled. Also added a geolocation timeout since Electron has no location provider.

Corrigé : carte vide dans l'app empaquetée — le TopoJSON était fetché en file:// (bloqué) ; il est désormais embarqué. Timeout de géolocalisation ajouté (Electron n'a pas de fournisseur).

macOS Apple Silicon — brew upgrade snitch.

Windows x64 — installateur ajouté / installer added

FR — Télécharger l’installeur Windows x64. Npcap est requis et doit être installé séparément depuis https://npcap.com/#download. Le binaire n’est pas signé numériquement ; Windows peut afficher un avertissement SmartScreen. Le SHA-256 est disponible dans le fichier .sha256 joint.

EN — Download the Windows x64 installer. Npcap is required and must be installed separately from https://npcap.com/#download. The binary is unsigned; Windows may show a SmartScreen warning. A matching .sha256 file is attached.

Source : correctifs de PR #14, arbre identique au commit 175d621, désormais fusionnée dans main / fixes from PR #14, source tree identical to commit 175d621, merged into main on 2026-10-17. Le tag v1.0.4 n’a pas été déplacé / the v1.0.4 tag was not moved.

Test GUI Windows Server 2022 + Npcap 1.89 : installation, lancement normal sans interface forcée, capture réelle, carte, alertes et reprise après erreur vérifiés / GUI installation, normal launch without interface overrides, real capture, map, alerts and error recovery verified.

Limites / Caveats : capture.interface reste null dans l’export (l’interface effective figure dans les logs) ; le menu Démarrer peut garder l’ancienne icône en cache / the export’s capture.interface remains null (the effective interface appears in logs); Start search may retain its old cached icon.

L’archive macOS existante n’a pas été remplacée et reste à reconstruire (version interne 1.0.3 et fichiers AppleDouble) / the existing macOS archive has not been replaced and still needs rebuilding (internal version 1.0.3 and AppleDouble files).
