Ranking and rungs
Exercise 2 · 10 minutes
Five tasks. Two need arithmetic, three need a letter.
Task 1 · Complete the table
Cost of delay is the three value columns added. WSJF is that total divided by job size. Rank 1 goes first.
One of these has the highest value score and does not go first. Note which, and why the denominator did that.
Task 2 · Two items, one team
Which order do you run, and what does the other order cost you?
(a) B then A, and the wrong order costs $83,200
(b) A then B, and the wrong order costs $47,200
(c) A then B, and the wrong order costs $83,200
(d) B then A, and the wrong order costs $124,800
Task 3 · Match the feature to its rung
The ladder, from the top rung down:
Write S, T, U or V against each feature. One feature does not sit on the ladder at all.
Task 4 · Read the curve
Cost per exception against the share resolved automatically. Doing nothing costs $14.00.
4.1 Which point would you ship?
4.2 One point costs more than automating nothing at all. Which?
4.3 The bar is 94 percent and the model reaches 85 percent. Which move lowers the bar itself?
(a) Retrain the model on more historical exceptions
(b) Raise the confidence threshold so fewer cases are attempted automatically
(c) Hold the action for ten minutes so a person can stop it
(d) Allow the agent more steps per case
Task 5 · One of these is false
(a) The accuracy bar rises when the cost of being wrong rises
(b) Raising coverage always raises the saving, because more cases are automated
(c) A wrong automatic answer costs the human handling anyway, plus the damage
(d) The token bill is a small share of what an agentic path replaces
