What chunk size do you use in production?

• A — 256 tokens or under
• B — around 512
• C — around 1024
• D — variable, structural — a clause, a section, a heading block

Then reply with the second answer: did you measure it on your corpus, or inherit it from a
tutorial default?

Why ask

There is no right chunk size. There is a bake-off, and the retrievable unit is a property of your
documents — for contracts it is a clause, for incident reports a paragraph, for code a function.
A repository that shipped 512 because a blog post said 512 has made a decision it cannot
defend, and the poll is mostly about how many of us have.
