Disable "select" checkbox when showDownloadZip is enabled #294

You can still single-click to open an image. Only clicking in the top-left corner will add an image to the selection. Single-clicking anywhere else will open the image in lightbox view. |

Interesting, that's not the behavior I'm seeing. A single tap anywhere on an image in the gallery "highlights" it (revealing the blank checkbox). It doesn't matter where I click the image, the behavior is the same. Once an image is "highlighted", I can add it to the selection by tapping the checkbox, or I can open it by tapping anywhere else. So it's not a double tap in the same sense as a double click, but it does take two tap actions to get into an image if it is not already highlighted. This behavior only exists if showDownloadZip is set to true. I'm on an iPhone13 mini, Firefox web browser if that makes a difference. I've attached a video showing me tapping around the gallery. Single taps. I was tapping at the bottom right of each image. Screenrecording.09-21-2026.20-22-00.1.mp4 |

Fixed in v3.4.1. On touch screens, one tap now opens the photo, and a long-press selects it. Thanks for the video, it showed the cause clearly. I don't have any iOS devices, so had to use BrowserStack for testing. It appears to be fine now - but please let me know. |
Uh oh!
There was an error while loading. Please reload this page.
I'd like to be able to disable the "select" checkbox while still allowing the full zip download on mobile, thereby re-enabling a single tap to open an image. I know I can disable full zip download and still allow per-image downloads. This is what I have done for now, but I would still like for folks to be able to download the full album with a single click from the gallery, without having to double tap to open a single image from the gallery. I just know some of my older relatives will struggle with the double tap.
Otherwise, this project is great! It has enabled me to tuck Immich back behind a VPN while still allowing me to share with family. Great job!
