Refresh cache when uploading

The documentation says that an uploaded image could take up to 7 minutes to shows, which can be a bit confusing for the person how uploaded the image.

Do you think it can be possible to develop a mechanism to reduce this waiting time? Maybe refresh the IPP cache?

If not, maybe add a warning on the upload page?

You could use the webhook notification to initiate a clearing of any downstream cache like CloudFlare. For browser cache, the visitor would just need to hard refresh.

Adding a customisable warning is a good idea, I will do that.

This is now configurable in 4.1.0:

• New ipp.shareCacheTime option (default 120 seconds) controls how long IPP caches a share's asset list before asking Immich again. A shorter time makes new photos and visitor uploads appear sooner, at the cost of more Immich API calls. See shareCacheTime.
• After an upload, the "Back to gallery" link fetches a fresh copy of the gallery page, so the visitor who uploaded doesn't wait out the browser cache.
• New ipp.upload.notice option for a customisable notice on the upload page. The default tells visitors their photos may not appear straight away. Set it to "" to hide it. See notice.
