Version numbers consists of a major version, minor version and a release number.
When the minor version is even, it’s a stable release, when it’s odd it’s a development release.

0.8.0- A stable release (minor is even)

0.9.6- A development release (minor is odd)

1.0.1- A stable release again.

major.minor.release- Component breakdown
Stable releases are published at PyPI
while development releases are only available in the GitHub git repository as tags.
All version tags starts with “v”, so version 0.8.0 is the tag v0.8.0.

cd celery
git checkout v0.8.0
python setup.py develop
