@albert-mueller @Medelcartelinc please see if this helps. it at least solves that the installer can boot. |

Thanks for testing this. Booting the installer from an internal partition via stock bootrom is a smart workaround because it bypasses the OpenCore AMFI environment that was causing the hang. I will look into how to bypass the compatibility check in the installer natively. Give me some time to test this. |

This is the code that is modified with the possible fix/patch -- RestrictEvents.cpp This is the original file -- RestrictEvents(original).cpp This is the zip I downloaded from Acidanthera's repo -- repo Try compiling this I just finally got my stable hack upgraded enough to install Xcode but I’m exhausted this one contains a patch I developed with google Gemini. I’m new to compiling a Kext from source. So if you or anyone on here would kindly compile this that would be great. :) I firmly believe this could be the answer to our problems. |

Update: Some level of success found here. |
Uh oh!
There was an error while loading. Please reload this page.
So it isn’t perfect but it did allow me past the language select screen. I created a partition on my internal ssd. I then restored the usb installer (Tahoe 26.7) I made to the internal partition. Then when I reboot (with the security checks disabled as mentioned here https://github.com/albert-mueller/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher-T2-Instructions-for-T2-Macs) I can boot directly into the installer from the stock bootrom and it boots up and allows me past the language select.
I had tried to boot through Opencore prior so it boots with the boot arguments in nvram (verbose boot etc)
The only problem is after I get past the language select screen it knows it’s a MacBookair8,1 and denies the installer to continue saying MacOS Tahoe is not compatible or whatever it actually says. If there was some way to patch the installer to install onto a macbookair8,1 this might be a viable workaround to get through installation.
So main question is: are we able to patch the installer to accept the MacBookair8,1 as a compatible Mac.
Side note: I knew it was a longshot and prob wouldn’t work but I had a Hackintosh with similar specs so I tried to restore a Time Machine image. It didn’t and prompted me to install the OS then I could restore the Time Machine image.
