Solis inverter with s3-wifi-st

Hi,

Firstly, thank you for this excellent project.

I'm in Australia and have the following setup:

• Solis S5-GR3P10K-AU
• Commissioned November 2022
• S3-WIFI-ST datalogger
• Home Assistant Green
• Waveshare USB-RS485 (FT232RL) adapter on order

My goal is to keep SolisCloud fully functional while also having local Modbus monitoring in Home Assistant.

Before I buy any additional hardware, could you please clarify a couple of things?

1. For an S5-GR3P10K-AU with an S3-WIFI-ST, what is the recommended hardware configuration?

2. Does your design require a custom Exceedconn pass-through cable/adapter, or is there an easier method?

3. Is the inverter's METER RJ45 port usable for local Home Assistant Modbus while leaving the S3-WIFI-ST connected to the COM port, or must local Modbus always interface with the COM port?

4. Is there a recommended source for the correct Exceedconn connector/cable?

If you were starting again today with my hardware (S5-GR3P10K-AU + S3-WIFI-ST + Home Assistant Green), what would you buy?
