The Mercury Template is a complete, modular template for OpenCms. Based on Bootstrap 5.3, it allows you to create simple or advanced grid layouts with drag and drop. It packs a ton of CSS features and JavaScript plugins that have been carefully integrated to be easy to use for the content manager. And it ships with all Java and SASS sources, so you can fully customize it to your unique needs.

Improvements in this release:

  • Updated for OpenCms 20.
  • Vite.js support with hot module / CSS replacement.
  • The "Map" element now supports custom icons for marker groups.
  • Group bookings for "Event" elements.
  • Extended options for "Slider" navigation points.
  • "Article" markup optimization for Google News / SEO.
  • New SEO setting for "Revisit after" in the "Meta info" element.
  • Individual link texts for "Media" elements in lists.
  • Alternative graphics in the header area for desktop and mobile.
  • Display of the template and current screen size in the page editor.
  • Option to make the privacy policy always accessible via icon.
  • Optimization of the cookie banner.
  • Optionally mark images as decorative in the editor.
  • Optionally link full text search words of the user with "AND" instead of "OR".
  • Update of Font Awesome and Bootstrap icons.
  • All NPM dependencies have been updated to a recent version.

Mercury 20 should be largely backward compatible with earlier Mercury versions.
