AVM v0.1.0 — First tester build
This is the first tester build of AVM (Accessible Virtual Machine), a macOS application that lets blind and low-vision users install and run Windows 11 ARM64 virtual machines entirely through VoiceOver — no sighted assistance required at any step.
Download: AVM.dmg below. It is signed and notarized by Apple; on first launch you will hear the standard "downloaded from the Internet" dialog with an Open button, and that is the only hurdle.
Before you start, please read the Tester Guide. It covers everything from the Mac keyboard settings you need to change, through creating your first VM, to what you will hear during the Windows install.
You will need:
- An Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 13 Ventura or later
- About 80 GB of free disk space
- A Windows 11 ARM64 ISO (the guide's section 2 explains how to get one)
Reporting: please file problems as issues on this repository. The guiding rule for reports: silence is a bug. If AVM ever leaves you without a spoken announcement about what is happening, that is a defect worth reporting, every time.
This build corresponds exactly to the source at this tag. AVM is GPL v2.
