Very nice work @lweberru, and thanks for building on the integration's stable IDs rather than entity names, that's exactly what they're for. The soil moisture ring next to the live balance is a good idea. Would you mind if I linked it from the documentation's card page, next to the companion card? 🙂 |

Hi everyone,
I wanted a compact, visual overview of individual Smart Irrigation zones on my Home Assistant dashboard, so I built Irrigation Zone Card and wanted to share it here.
The idea is to bring the important information together in one card: soil moisture as a ring, the live water balance on a scale with a clear zero point, calculated irrigation duration, water usage, and an optional valve control.
The screenshot shows three example states using demo data. The icons in this standalone preview are local placeholders; inside Home Assistant the card uses HA's MDI icons.
Select a zone instead of configuring every sensor
With v0.2.0, you can select a Smart Irrigation zone by name in the visual card editor. The card then finds the duration, irrigation-needed, live-bucket and water-used entities using the integration's stable internal IDs, so renamed entity IDs still work.
It also picks up the soil moisture sensor and linked
switchorvalveif they are configured in Smart Irrigation. Individual entity assignments can still be overridden, and fully manual configuration is supported too.The minimal YAML configuration is:
Here,

Installation
Add the repository to HACS as a custom repository, category Dashboard:
https://github.com/lweberru/ha_irrigation_zone_card
Download Irrigation Zone Card, reload the browser, and add Irrigation Zone from the card picker. If the resource is not registered automatically, add
/hacsfiles/ha_irrigation_zone_card/ha_irrigation_zone_card.jsas a JavaScript module in the dashboard resources.Automatic discovery was checked against Smart Irrigation v2026.10.8. It relies on the integration's zone WebSocket API and stable per-zone entity identifiers, so older versions may need manual configuration. The project is still young; there are 22 automated logic/browser checks, plus checks of the entity mapping against a running HA instance. The browser tests use simulated HA objects.
I'd be interested to hear whether this is useful for your dashboards, how it works with your zone setups, and which information you would like to see next.
Thanks to the Smart Irrigation maintainers and community for the integration!
