Previous value flickers when changing filter dropdown #584

Describe the bug
When changing a filter dropdown's value, the previous value flickers (watch the Standard Filter dropdown - after changing from highLevel to problem, it flickers back to highLevel for a moment):

It's not as noticeable/may not flicker at all if there isn't lag. If you pick a filter that shows a low number of nodes and change the dropdown to something that'll reveal a lot of nodes, it should be easier to reproduce.
