Documentation search is not working locally in Chrome

"Searching..." goes on forever when searching locally in Chrome. Reported as fixed in sphinx-doc/sphinx#1642, but migration to Sphinx 1.3 is blocked by breathe-doc/breathe#144.

Building with Sphinx 1.3 is working with breathe-doc/breathe#175, but need to use Sphinx head as the issue hasn't been fixed in current version 1.3b2.
