In-built option to disable datepicker display on input focus or click

I want to display datepicker on a button click instead of showing it automatically on input focus / click. I can't disable input focus / click event though there are some actions I want to perform on input focus. Is there any built in option to disable datepicker showing on input focus ?

No such option at the moment.. But I think this would be something useful – I’ll be considering it for a future release :)

I found a temporarily solution how to unbind the handler from input field, but it still doesn't work, because the handler is renewed with every calendar opening - was like this just in case someone would find it usefull:

I think this would solve the following problem:

1. Put the input focus on a pickadate field.
2. The picker appears, then dismiss it.
3. Tab away to another window. Return focus to the window.
4. The picker pops up again, even though you just dismissed it. It's strange behavior. If I want it to return, I will click on the field again. The picker pops up too often.

Despite my complaint, thank you, this is a really nice date picker library.

This can be done setting editable: true. It won't trigger the picker when you focus the input field.

But apparenty, people want this behavior changed by triggering the picker even when editable is set to true. See Issue #542
