How to stop notifications from containing all message history (google voice)

I don't know if this is intended behavior or not, but it's highly annoying and I can't seem to stop it from behaving like this.

To test the notifications, I sent a text message to my google voice number and I get the notification on my desktop but it shows all previous messages as well, every time.

How would I stop this from happening? I only want the notification to show the unread message.

I see what's going on. If I leave the messages unread on the phone, it keeps sending all of the unread every time. Would be a good feature to be able to toggle this behavior.

Sorry for the late response, you're right about the situation, generally.

This is actually done on the "other" side (i.e. the Android app), and since these notifications are from the notification plugin and not the sms plugin, there's not much Valent (or other clients) can do that isn't hacky.

It's best to open a bug at https://bugs.kde.org, with two potentials fixes being a setting or added support so we can inform a device a message has been read. Currently, messaging only really supports "read received messages" and "send a new message".
