restart grunt serve?

I need to kill and restart grunt serve on our debug instance from a git post-receive hook is this possible?

not understanding everything about your debug env, but can you run a bash script via the hook that kills and restarts the grunt serve process?

without a pid file, there's no good way to kill it off. I was hoping there would be a grunt serve:restart or something.
