how to display required validation error message for md-radio-group

need to display required validation error message for md-radio-group on form submit

What is the expected behavior?

show error message if no type selected:

validated the form, but no error displayed.

hi @jelbourn , i am actually requesting the md-error for md-radio-group , currently, it will always get display no matter there is a selected value or not?
so may i know how to display the me-error only when there is no value selected upon form submit?

mat-error is only for <mat-form-field>. Error display for other control types is up to the downstream app since Material Design doesn't specify anything for other controls.
