I created in README.md, using existing documentation, a pure JavaScript function that adds in the prototype chain of HTMLElement the function animateCss.

Although this does look good, I think it's adding to much complexities in the already larger than it should readme of a really simple library.

I'm still not sure if it's a good idea to just close the PR or if we can find a place in #681. I'm open to suggestions.

what if @eltonmesquita let's create a separate documentation page within @daneden website?

Totally agree that the readme has really overgrown over the years. I'd like to include a rewrite of documentation in the 4.0 release to make it as simple as it once was! The landscape of the web has changed a lot, my broad stroke ideas with docs are something like:

  • Abandon jQuery examples in favor of vanilla CSS/HTML and JS examples
  • Add Wiki pages for complex examples and third-party library references
