Session breaks / modified files not showing

Description

Sometimes a session breaks and stops showing modified files (both in TUI and web view). Also using "Jump to message" shows no results, which I believe is a symptom of the corrupted state (although weirdly enough the web view does render these messages).

There's something really wrong with this session in general, since in TUI it only shows messages from some point and the earlier thinking/messages are missing – but this specific thing might be related to #4321
