Description
Hi opencode team,
Thank you for the great work on opencode and the website.
I’d like to share a small piece of feedback regarding the language experience on the opencode website, mainly for your reference.
Observation
While browsing the opencode website and documentation in Simplified Chinese, I noticed that the language switcher does not seem to take effect:
- After switching the language to English from the language selector, the page content still remains in Chinese.
- Refreshing the page or navigating to other sections does not appear to change the language.
In addition, some of the current Chinese translations (especially navigation items and proper nouns) can be a bit difficult to understand in places, which makes reading slightly challenging.
I may be missing some expected behavior, so I just wanted to report what I observed (see screenshot).
Small suggestions (for discussion)
Without trying to make any decisions, here are a few possible directions you might consider:
- Checking or fixing the website language switcher so that switching to English works as expected, and/or
- Improving or reviewing the Chinese translations for better clarity and consistency, and/or
- Making it easier for users to fall back to the original language when needed.
Motivation
For users who rely on the language switcher, being able to switch languages reliably is very helpful, especially when reading technical documentation.
Thanks for your time, and I hope this feedback is helpful.
Happy to provide more details if needed.
Best regards
