OpenCode VS Code Extension (Beta)

Question

Hi! Thanks for building OpenCode — I use it a lot, including the VS Code OpenCode Beta extension (sst-dev.opencode-v2), the newer chat/sidebar-based UI with the enhanced chat interface (not the classic terminal-based extension).

I ran into a few small bugs and wanted to contribute fixes or improvements, but I haven’t been able to find the source code for this Beta extension.

The Marketplace page mentions developing from sdks/vscode-v2, but I don’t see that directory in the repo anymore — I only found the older/classic extension.

Could you clarify:

• Where the current Beta extension source lives?

• Is it on a different branch or separate repo?

• Or is it being discontinued or replaced?

Happy to help contribute if it’s still active — just need a pointer to the right place 🙂

I couldn't even find any code on GitHub using the keyword "vscode-v2", so I'm sure it's not in this repository.

Hey, hope im correct with this here. I dont want to open a new issue when this is hopefully bundled here.

So I'm using too the opencode beta extension in cursor and while i could upgrade opencode to v1.3.7, i couldnt the extension which is still stuck in v.1.3.4 and opencode itself told me it is bundled inside without possible to upgrade unless the authors themselves do.

Im using Windows 11, Cursor 2.6.22, installed the CLI/TUI via bun. Additional question would be, when the extension bundles its extra instance, is than opencode extra needed on my laptop? The infos on the VS marketplace says yeah, but when they are two distinct instances, does it actually matter?
