Official curl installer is painfully slow

When using the official curl install command from https://opencode.ai curl -fsSL https://opencode.ai/install | bash, installation takes ~50 seconds.

The actual binary is just 50MB, so should be pretty instantaneous on modern internet connection (verified with manual curl from github).

I took a look and the reason this is happening is here

The --trace-ascii flag is producing a lot of stderr output which is later parsed with sed to recover the progress. This is also eating a lot of CPU in process.

Running this bash install.sh --no-modify-path 2>/dev/null confirms it -- completes in a second since it's not doinig --trace-ascii anymore
