Description

OpenCode exits immediately when the python extensions need to activate a venv.

Yes, I have the same problem. My solution is to press the up arrow key on the keyboard twice and then hit Enter. It's not very elegant, but it works. I compared the startup method of Claude code, and Claude code waits for the virtual environment to activate before executing the Claude command when launched via a button. I think open code might consider adopting this approach.
