Module: Ambient Mode
Allows you choose a video and audio track to loop forever (or until you choose to stop it). It's essentially a CRT version of Samsung's Art mode or a screensaver option any Smart TV or set top box. The main differences being... you can add your own media to playback, its free and it works on a CRT 😊
Playback (through MPV)
- Supported video file types: "mp4", "mkv", "avi", "mov", "m4v", "webm", "wmv", "flv", "f4v", "mpg", "mpeg", "vob"
- Supported audio file types: "mp3", "wav", "flac", "m4a", "ogg", "aac"
- Playlist support using m3u and m3u8 files for audio tracks (allows you to define a playlist of music to play over any video you choose)
- Loops playback until you stop it
| Option | Values | Info |
|---|---|---|
| Enabled | On/Off | Sets if the Local Files module should display in the main module list when you start 240-MP. |
| Media Directory | Default or User Selected | Allows you to choose where the Local Files module will look for content |
Ambient:Mode will display and allow you to play any of its supported file types as long as they exist in the ambient mode media directory.
The default media directory is located at:
- RaspberryPi:
~/.local/share/240-MP/ambient - MacOS:
~/Library/Application Support/240-MP/ambient
And you can change that to any directory you like (a different local folder, usb, remote share, etc...) through the Media Directory option in settings.
- Video: allows you to select which video you'd like to loop
- Audio: allows you play back the video audio OR any other audio track/playlist you have in the media directory on an independent loop on top of the video
Essentially, you can create fun and unique combinations of video and audio to loop for as long as you like.
