Bug Description

When the lsm writer is archiving

1. it will write the instant files that need to be archived on the active timeline to the L0 layer of the LSM timeline layout
2. and compact the files at each level in the LSM timeline
3. clean up stale version files

During this process, a certain step may fail, which could result in some files remaining on the file system and subsequently affect the subsequent the next archiving.
