The only change I didn't backport was the one test that was updated to use That's a Spark 3.2 only test as far as I can tell, and I will be using these in #3734. I will merge this PR and that PR locally to ensure everything is ok with the two PRs together. |

This backports #3549 to Spark 3.1.
This is needed so that #3734 can be reviewed, as it uses
SparkTestBaseWithCatalog.cc @rdblue @jackye1995
