The bug in this case was the code to create the schema and the code that parsed the data used two different methods on how to retrieve the attribute name thereby preventing the ability to retrieve the values of the attributes. The
XmlRecordSourceclass usedjavax.xml.namespace.QNamemethodgetLocalPartwhile classXMLRecordReaderusedjavax.xml.namespace.QNamemethodtoStringwhich is the fully qualified name of the attribute which in the case of a name spaced attribute gives the fully qualified name. The fix was to have both classes usegetLocalPart.Tracking
