+## CLI Syntax ##
+
+The general form of `claude mcp add` is (see [Claude Code MCP docs](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/mcp)):

+The `--` separates Claude Code's own options from the positional arguments (`<name>`, `<command>`, and the server's `[args...]`). Putting `--` before `<name>` matters when `-e KEY=value` is used: `-e` is a variadic flag, so without `--` it greedily reads the next token as another env entry and the CLI rejects the name (`Invalid environment variable format: solr-mcp`). Everything after `--` is treated as plain positional input, so server flags aren't reparsed by Claude Code either.
