Oh, I missed your comment here. Yes, it does. If we don't specify the exact version like 17.0.x, 17 is the alias.
In addition, actions/setup-java@v4 itself is an alias of v4.x.x, too. We are consuming the auto-updated status, @cloud-fan .

To clarify Java 17 clean build status always because Java 17 is the default Java version in the community.
