torq wiki

torq is a self-hosted maintenance logbook and DIY repair tracker for people who work on their own cars. It runs as one small Docker container with an embedded SQLite database.

Start here

  • Installation: run torq with Docker or Docker Compose and create the first account.
  • Configuration: every environment variable.
  • Deployment: run torq on a VPS with automatic deployments, HTTPS and your own domain.

Using torq

  • Notifications and webhooks: Discord, ntfy, Gotify, Home Assistant and the generic JSON payload.
  • Vehicle catalog: HSN/TSN quick-fill, make → model → chassis code → engine, and online catalog updates.
  • Spec sheet auto-fill: look up fluids, capacities, lug torque and tyre pressure on the web, with sources.

Operating torq

Note

The project rules (single dark theme, metric units, webhook-only notifications, offline vehicle lookups) are deliberate. Feature requests are welcome; they are checked against these rules.
